Questions
What is VLSFO?
Very low sulphur fuel oil, with at most 0.50 % sulphur. Since 1 January 2020 the IMO global limit requires it for ships without exhaust scrubbers outside emission control areas.
Can ships with scrubbers use HFO 380?
Yes. Ships fitted with exhaust gas cleaning systems may burn high-sulphur fuel oil where local port rules allow it.
